As all of us know that Pertubuhan Hare Krsna Ashram, Malaysia (Cawangan Seremban) has conducted their 1st Annual Jagannatha Ratha Yatra on the past 25 December 2010. The ceremony has been ended with a whole bunch of success, Thanks to all the devotess who worked very hard to mesmerize this wonderfull event of the Lord.
By hearing the sound Ratha Yatra, in mind flashes the picture of chariots of Lord Jagannath with his brother Baladeva and his sister, Subathra and hundereds of people pulling it in a procession This festival is considered very auspicious. Even a glimpse of Lord Jagannatha on the chariot is regarded as auspicious and the person who gets it is considered as fortunate. It is said that pulling the cart is enough to confer the results of hundreds and thousands of pious deeds or penances. In the Kathopanishada, the concept of the chariot is explained as follows:
"Atmanam rathinam viddhi sareeram rathamevatu
Buddhim tu saarathim viddhi marah pragrahameva cha"
Which means: “The body is the Chariot and the soul is the deity installed in the chariot. The wisdom acts as the charioteer to control the mind and thoughts.”
Pull the Ratha…!!!
Rath yatra is not only divine but also entertaining. Hundreds of people take so much delight in pulling the ratha. They play and dance around the Ratha. Devotees of Jagannath believe that if one pulls the Ratha of Jagannath, Lord Jagannath pulls his life-ratha. It means one who pulls the ratha, his life will be guided by mercy of Lord Jagannath.
